| Description: |
Our client in Regina is looking for a Data Warehouse Specialist to perform data mining – investigation and reporting of outcomes, patterns, and correlations.
Project Duties of Resource:
• Querying ministry databases using Discoverer
• Data mining to establish patterns, correlations and relationships between different data elements
• Undertake analytics and prepare reports to communicate findings
• Review/refine/recommend processes to improve data integrity and quality related to data collected from school divisions (student, educator, other data)
• Metadata development to better understand and confirm execution of business rules and ETL transfers from the database to the ministry data warehouse.
Other Required Skills:
• Data warehouse experience including experience with complex relational tables, data cubes, and other data warehousing technologies.
• Knowledge, skills, and experience related to data quality and data integrity.
• Past experience with the education sector or another human services environment.
• Good understanding of descriptive statistics (with preference to at least basic understanding of inferential statistics).
• Strong skills using Microsoft Office.
• Good oral and written communications skills including good presentation skills.
Other Qualifications of the Candidate
• Experience with statistical analysis using SPSS (preferably) or SAS.
• Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate achievement of expected team outcomes.

Minimum 5 years experience constructing complex conditions to effectively and efficiently access relevant data and developing complex formulas/calculations to derive information from queried data.

Minimum 5 years experience performing data analysis including advanced knowledge of and skills using Microsoft Excel and Visual Basic or equivalent programming.

Minimum 5 years experience presenting complex data in charts and tables that effectively communicate research findings.

| Work Environment: |
Work to be on client site in Regina Saskatchewan. Potential for a six months extension. |
