Director of Business Applications

Our client is looking for an experienced Director of Business Applications to join our team that will provide leadership, direction, and support in creating best in class IT systems, processes, and architecture. This person has a strong business and technical IT background and understands what it takes to implement and configure systems and is also able to effectively partner with the business to design end-to-end solutions that support business needs. The ideal candidate metrics driven, is never satisfied with the status quo and has a continuous improvement mindset, developing solutions that are flexible, scalable, and forward-looking to support strategic business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee various functional IT areas including Business Systems, Applications, Application Portfolio Management, Application Security, Application Integration, Reporting & Analytics and Project Management. Systems include Salesforce, Netsuite, HRIS & ERP
• Participate in the development of IT strategies in collaboration with the CIO and CTO
• Partner with business stakeholders, enterprise architects, and other leaders in the organization to effectively deliver technology in support of business capabilities
• Provide structure in a complex environment with multiple systems and processes, and identify iterative steps that add new value early and often for end users, while still heading towards a long-term vision
• Ensure the design and documentation of efficient processes with cross-functional team engagement
• Lead business and functional requirements definition for new systems; identify and evaluate potential solutions; select and implement successfully
• Ensure a streamlined customer journey by designing integrated processes in the Salesforce platform
• Manage all development & configuration activities in an agile framework (SAFe)
• Establish, negotiate and maintain relationships with suppliers to obtain best services and pricing
• Continuous stakeholder engagement to ensure alignment, prioritization, SLAs, and delivery
• Direct research on potential technology solutions and implementations in support of new initiatives and opportunities
• Coordinate with the Director, Cybersecurity to manage compliance and information security
• Drive results while maintaining a high degree of employee engagement
• Prepare and manage business applications expenditures including annual budget

Professional Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in computer science, computer systems information, or related discipline & a Master’s in business or Technology
• 10+ years of experience in relevant progressive roles at IT Solutions companies
• 5+ years of experience in a Salesforce platform environment
• 5+ years of experience providing superior leadership skills including experience managing cross-technology teams or projects and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders
• 5+ years of Agile & SDLC experience
• Proven experience in Process management and IT project management and demonstrated ability in applying IT to solve business problems
• Experience implementing strategy enabled by end-to-end Business Applications and managing an IT environment with multiple complex systems and processes that are cross-functional
• Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences with varying levels of IT acumen
• Proven success with business transformation initiatives
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral to varying levels of roles across the business
• Proven ability to consistently and collaboratively resolve issues, mitigate roadblocks, and, meet all financial and management goals on time
• Highly motivated, self-starter, goal-oriented and innovative
• Must be comfortable with ambiguity and fast change with an ability to adapt quickly and easily
