Intermediate Business Analyst to assist with the implementation of improved processes and workflows

Our valued financial client is seeking an Intermediate Business Analyst for an initial 1.5-year contract in Ottawa, ON (Hybrid - minimum 5 days on-site/month - with an optional 1.5 year extension) 

As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for gathering and analyzing data from business groups and IT subject matter experts to identify process performance areas and assist in the design/update of workflow and process strategies to improve business performance. 

Responsibilities:

• Interact with business stakeholders and ITS subject matter experts to identify goals, best practices, and other active methods for gathering and analyzing their data to identify process performance areas
• Identify and establish the scope and parameters of requirements analysis to define impact, outcome criteria, and metrics
• Prepare storytelling narratives in activities such as developing a business case, building requirements, writing user stories and use cases
• Assist in the design and/or update of workflow and process strategies to improve business performance and monitor the efficacy of the new and updated workflows
• Assist with creating and presenting process reports for client approval, while overseeing the implementation of revised Bank processes and workflows
• Assist with the development of test plans and scripts

Must-Have Skills:

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role
• Experience writing user guides, manuals, and technical knowledge articles
• Demonstrated client-facing expertise and proven analytical background
• Demonstrated advanced knowledge of Microsoft’s suite of tools including Visio
• Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic & agile environment autonomously, self-prioritizing, switching between multiple tasks as required, to deliver high-priority items quickly

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA), Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), or similar designations/certifications
• Demonstrated knowledge of Design Thinking Process
