Intermediate Power BI Developer to work on multiple ongoing enhancement/implementation initiatives for a Large Banking Client - 26095
Location Address: Downtown Toronto – Hybrid – 2 days per week
Contract Duration: 5 months
Extension: Possible
Business group: Internal Controls – Support the Global Banking and Markets Businesses. Overall responsible for assisting Business Line and Desks Heads with the supervision of staff to mitigate any kind of related risks.
Project: Various projects within the Internal Controls Perimeter. This includes: Complete overhaul of the Internal Control Supervisory system to create a uniform and global solution by enhancing existing processes and incorporating various technologies (mainly Salesforce and Power BI), and producing Executive KPIs/KRIs for GBM Management
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:

• Experience in the Financial Services
• Salesforce Experience (Power BI and Salesforce integration)
• Power Platform Products (Apps, Automate, etc) knowledge is highly desirable
• SSRS knowledge
• Java Script
• Project Management experience
Typical Day in Role
- The candidate will be extensively working on Power BI Report Builder and DataFlows for the development of a centralized techno-functional team
- As a Power BI Dev, candidates should be able to understand business requirements and translate them into technical features within Power BI dashboards
- This individual will develop queries and consume data from various data sources and actively use necessary data transformation techniques to convert raw data to clean usable data
- Demonstrate knowledge of Power BI Report Builder / Platform and command of data with team members
- Candidates should be technically savvy and have a high level understanding of various data sources and data streams as they will be facilitating the process of creating ETL pipelines for Power BI consumption.
- The ability to both, develop and project manage are essential to the success of this position
- Candidates are expected to demonstrate their knowledge of Power BI / Platform and command of data with team members
- Working with business and technology stakeholders to create wireframes, PoCs, and test solution
- Dealing with Internal Control Team as well as supervisors for GBM businesses – to a certain extent potentially also stakeholders in Compliance, HR, and other regions of Technology
- Dealing with VPs/SVPs/EVPs and managing directors
- 30 (administrative work and working with internal supervisors):70 (technology) split
Degrees or certifications:
- Undergraduate degree
- Power BI Certification is highly desired

- Average 30 minute interviews each round

- 3+ years of recent development experience working with Microsoft Power BI applications (Power BI Report Builder/Desktop and Dataflows) and SharePoint
- 3+ years developing queries and consuming data from data stores and actively working with the data in Power BI or other Power Platform Tools
- 5+ years data warehouse and business intelligence experience with common industry tools and methodologies
- Expert level DAX code and M Query knowledge
- Recent experience with Java Script within a SharePoint site and SharePoint Designer – demonstrated by at least 2 recent projects
- Advanced level experience in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPS, IndexMatch, Pivot Tables, etc)
- 2+ years of Python skills
- Excellent Communication Skills – Verbal and Written
Nice-To-Have Skills:
