Intermediate / Senior Network Engineer to design and lead evaluations, implementations and the maintenance of complex network and telecommunications technologies

The Intermediate/ Senior Network Engineer position designs and leads evaluations, implementations and maintenance of complex network and telecommunications technologies. The Intermediate / Senior Network Engineer is responsible for looking to the future of network architecture to ensure that our client deploys efficient as well as leading-edge network constructs in a high bandwidth consumption setup across multiple locations.
 
Support of enterprise technologies (VOIP, Security, Routing, Layer 3 switching) in multi-location complex networking environments. Ability to manage large projects, develop documentation, and testing processes a must. Good written and verbal communication skills. Level 3 support for complex enterprise break/fix.

Key Responsibilities:
 

• Install, configure, and optimize and maintain all Routers, switches and other networking equipment.
• Evaluate, design, analyze, and maintain all WAN/LAN transport systems for new and existing sites.
• Develop and document network infrastructure standards
• Conduct feasibility studies on strategic and tactical network plans.
• Provide 2nd and 3rd tier support for health system networks.
• Develop, support and implement network standards, processes and security to maintain reliable network infrastructure
• Develop, update and audit network documentation.
• Analyze project needs/requirements and recommend systems to enable enterprise integration of network systems and hardware.
• Develop, maintain, and communicate project plans and status updates
• Training and mentoring to develop members of the team and other technical resources.
• Interface with equipment vendors and service providers to obtain system configurations, quoting and support.
• Resolve trouble tickets assigned to provide exceptional customer service
• Lead a team of 2 network Engineers
• Some after hour support as required

Professional Experience & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience in Information Technology
• Must have experience with Palo Alto Firewalls, CISCO Routers and switches, in a fully meshed, fault-tolerant Gigabit Ethernet environment.
• Experience with implementation of complex network  infrastructure
• 5+ years of network engineering experience
• Network certifications: CCNA
