Our large oil and gas client is seeking an Intermediate Windows Systems Administrator (5+yrs) for provisioning, patching, and maintenance of a Windows/VMWare/HP/Citrix environment.

Must-haves:
  • 5+ years technical hands-on experience with supporting and maintaining Windows Servers
  • 2+ years infrastructure systems operations specifically in a large environment
  • Experience working with VMWare products in the last 2 years
Nice-to-haves:
  • Hands-on cloud experience in large environments, in either Azure or AWS
  • Experience with Citrix
  • Experience with a wide-range of HP products
  • Familiarity with Powershell, VBScript or command line batch scripts
  • Experience with writing technical documentation
  • Knowledge of ITIL practices, particularly Incident, Problem and Change Management
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry
Overview:
  • This role resides within the Cloud Platform team, which is responsible for all “build” and “run” work within their Cloud environments.
  • You will contribute hands-on to operating a multi-cloud platform and on-premise server environment.
  • You will initially contribute to the successful transition from outsource to in-house IT, and ensure stable operations of a large server environment (technical knowledge transfer, documentation and streamlined process).
  • You will execute on various operational activities, such as provisioning, patching, general server environment maintenance and tracking technical debt.
  • Once successfully stabilized, we expect this role to offer some opportunities to get involved in building new solutions such as automation and new features/capabilities in the cloud.
Location: Must be near or in Calgary, Alberta as this client will be returning to the office eventually for 3 days/week. Proof of vaccination or negative test each 72 hours will be required to be in office. 
Contract: ASAP for 6 months with chance for extension or conversion to full-time employment
