Our client is looking for a senior Infrastructure/Network Architect who will be Subject Matter Expert in technology/infrastructure architecture, developing and maintaining enterprise and solutions technology/infrastructure architecture. The candidate will provide architecture for data centre, communications rooms, network, storage, servers, operating systems, CCTV, telephony, enterprise wide IT services, and IT security.

The hired candidate must be located in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) in Ontario, Canada, fully vaccinated and available for a hybrid work environment (1-2 days/week).

Must Have:
- Specific role is Network Architect / Senior Network Engineer with minimum 8 years’ experience in a large environment, and CCIE certified.
- Strong design and hands-on implementation experience transforming and modernizing networks including Multi-site ACI, SDWAN, multicasting, multi-datacentre disaster recovery capabilities, BGP multi-datacentre ISP failover, Azure Hybrid Cloud Networking, MPLS, Cisco ISE, Cisco and Palo Alto firewalls, F5 GTM and LTM.
- Experience with Zero Trust Architecture such as design and implementing Zscaler.
- University Degree in applied sciences such as Engineering, Systems Design, Computer Sciences, Business or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent
- Eight (8) years’ progressively senior experience in Information Technology with solid background in Infrastructure architecture planning, design, development and implementation
- A minimum 6 years of technology/infrastructure architecture/solution design experience, ideally within the public sector environment
- Knowledge and expertise in the principles, practices and latest concepts in Enterprise Architecture, Project Management methodologies and Solutions Development life cycles, with the ability to promote a coherent, corporate approach to enterprise architecture
- Strong track record of building and maintaining solid relationships with internal and external customers and vendors
- Ability to plan, set priorities, schedule and manage enterprise architecture projects as well as personal and team deliverables
- Leadership, problem solving, interpersonal, and oral/written/presentation skills to lead the analysis, design, and development of enterprise technology/infrastructure architecture initiatives

- Develops and maintains Metrolinx-wide technology/infrastructure architecture designs and standards in alignment with the corporate technological vision and direction
- Identifies, designs and develops enterprise wide technology/infrastructure architecture artifacts that meet the evolving business, customer service, operational, applications, risk and compliance requirements
- Subject Matter Expert in technology/infrastructure architecture, developing and maintaining enterprise and solutions technology/infrastructure architecture
- Providing architecture for data centre, communications rooms, network, storage, servers, operating systems, CCTV, telephony, enterprise wide IT services, and IT security
- Assesses and reuses patterns in the technology/infrastructure architecture and develops scalable multi-use architecture
- Develops and documents scalable multi-use policies and standards that are compliant with the enterprise architecture and design documentation to be referenced by technology/infrastructure specialists
- Identifies implementation risks and analyses of potential impact on the enterprise and on the achievement of scheduled objectives
- Analysis of technology industry and market trends to determine their potential impact on technology/infrastructure architectures
- Provides expert technical leadership in the development of Metrolinx-wide strategic directions for BT architecture, standards, principles, best practices
- Delivers architectural alternatives, recommendation documents and architecture blueprint documents to senior management and stakeholders for approval
- Provides advice to clients regarding technology/infrastructure technologies, technology risk assessments, and project issues
- Develops relevant technology roadmaps, reference architectures and technology/infrastructure related policies and standards to be used by solution designers/infrastructure specialists for both project and operational work
- Educate IT management, business users, architecture peers, and technology specialists on technology/infrastructure architecture and technology trends.
