Our large public sector client is currently looking for a Jr. Developer to join their Portal team for a minimum period of 12 months. In this position, you will take on the primary role of testing in support of our Platform team in performing updates of Sharepoint on-premise servers across all our portals. You will also have a chance to use your skills in the areas of user-centric web and mobile friendly development, testing, deployment, and operational support.

As a Junior Developer, you will be responsible for:
- Building and applying an automated testing framework for quarterly updates of Ithe SharePoint environment
- Creating and executing test cases, and managing test validation scripts
- Developing automation methods, identifying performance and system capacity requirements, and implementing development tools to gain efficiencies with application development and operational support
- Investigation and resolution of production problems related to the applications
- Providing technical expertise while supporting low to medium complex work for the solution design, configuration, development, and delivery of software applications
- Providing estimates for business cases, impact assessments, projects and action requests in response to requests from Business Systems Analysts or Team Leads
- Introducing innovation ideas and technical capabilities in the form of proof-of-concepts or pilot projects to evolve portal services
Position Requirements
- Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies
- Basic knowledge of project management methodologies, including agile, waterfall, and scrum
- Applied knowledge of best practices, methods and techniques of systems analysis and design to ensure effective application design
- Experience defining/implementing functional/non-functional requirements
- Experience performing production support including incident, problem and change management
- Ability to plan, prioritize and complete multiple concurrent tasks in an environment of changing deadlines, priorities and requirements
The ideal candidate must possess the following technical qualifications:
- Relevant post-secondary education in computer science and related technical experience
- Front-end development, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
- Back-end development, including application of .NET framework (C#), XML/JSON, and Powershell
- Hands-on experience in performing updates of Microsoft-based server applications, including the application of various test methodologies
- Hands-on experience with unit testing, functional testing, automated testing and application debugging techniques
- Demonstrated ownership with design of components for enterprise applications
