Junior Project Manager to lead a hardware relocation and decommissioning project for a major banking client - 26566

Location: Hybrid (downtown Toronto occasionally)
Duration: 6 Months
Hours: 37.5 hours/week
 
Business Group: The Technology Move Team is responsible for the management of technology deliverables within a Real Estate project and/or Workplace Transformation.
 
Story Behind the Need: Due to a large relocation project the team is looking for an additional project manager to assist in the relocation and decommissioning of hardware. The successful candidate will be responsible for process creation, document creation and working with stakeholders to coordinate shipments.
 
Typical Day in Role:
  • Accountable for planning the end-to-end design of significant processes and projects (the full journey)
  • Act as a single point of contact for all technology components throughout the project life cycle
  • Strategically influence project stakeholders on technical standards and design that optimize business performance and productivity
  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
  • Recommends technical strategy within a technical domain, may investigate, and evaluate new technologies
  • Work with executive sponsors and business managers to prioritize requirements, issues and deliverables
  • Prepare technology budgets, schedules, and manage support teams and external IT vendors when applicable. Renovations, expansions, relocations, new locations, and special move budget and scopes vary in sizes of up to $5 Million.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with our Real Estate team to manage the development and progress of all projects by creating, negotiating, and monitoring performance schedules dependencies and resources.
 
Must Have Skills:
  • 2-3 years of experience as a Project Manager
  • Prior experience with logistics projects
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Prior financial industry experience
 
Nice to Have Skills:
  • Project Manager Certifications (PMP, PMBOK)
  • Prior experience working with stakeholders
 
Education:
Post-Secondary Education is required
