Job Description:Software Developer - intermediate
LOB: Capital Markets (Trading desk)
Role Mandate: This role is within the Trading desk team within Capital Markets supporting international offices through software development of tool to facilitate trading. The team is currently in the process of migrating their existing trading tool to a new OS platform. The selected candidate will be managing the maintenance of the existing platform (some new developments/enhancements) as well as assisting in the migration to the new platform. Estimated timeline to complete migration is 6 months after the candidate’s start date.
Team Structure: The selected candidate will be joining a team of 3 to focus technologies of various regions (Toronto, New York, London, Dublin). The team conducts daily huddle meetings to review what is being worked on and to troubleshoot problems that arose from the previous day. Conference calls are conducted on Teams where team members share their screens to demonstrate and problem solve. This position is closely aligned with the priorities of the Heads of Trading and Desk Heads across Trading Products.  The key responsibilities are the development and support of front office activities. 
Must-Have Skills:
  • 3+ years of experience as a Python Developer (2 and 3) working on Oracle databases
  • Migration experience
  • Completed post-secondary (ideally in Computer Science)
Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • C#, C++, Java, JavaScript, Typescript, VBA
  • Financial industry experience
  • Capital markets experience or trading floor experience
  • Knowledge of Equity lines of business/financial theory/risk management/trading/pricing  (bloomberg/reuters)
