***The candidate will be required to go into the office for the first few weeks for training. They will then be required to go into the office a few days each month, remaining time will be WFH***
Business group: Money Transfer Operations – This group is responsible for all wire payments within the bank.
Project: The Money Transfer Operations group is looking for a Payments Specialist. The candidate will be processing incoming and outgoing wire payments. They will be responsible for actioning items in multiple queues as well as working with technology partners to potentially implement improvements and efficiencies with regards to the SSI set up for clients to ensure a smooth and seamless client experience.
Responsibilities:
• Attend a group huddle twice a week. They will be expected to lead the huddle on occasion
• The verification officer is responsible for having detailed knowledge of wire payment formatting to ensure the error or formatting issue can be quickly identified and repaired.
• Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct
• Support Global Wholesale Operations and Bank partners with regards to ensuring all Standard Settlement Instructions are adhered to and communicated accordingly to all clients, ensuring a smooth settlement process of wires especially that of the Deposit business. Be an advocate and voice for Money Transfer Operations with training of new processes as a result of new onboarded/existing clients and their initiatives.
• Support the Money Transfer Operations team with day-to-day operational efficiencies to maximize resources and ensure initiatives and process improvements are aligned with the business line and with wider Bank strategic objectives, predominantly the governance around Standard Settlement Instructions.
• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
Must Have Skills:
1. 1-2 years of experience processing payments
2. Experience within a financial institution
Nice-To-Have Skills:
1. Experience using BESS
3. 1-2 years of experience with wire payments
Degrees or certifications:
High school diploma
Experience is more valuable
