Position: Organizational Change Management (OCM) Lead
Minimum years of role specific experience: 5 years
- Any individual proposed to fill this role must possess the following qualifications:
- Completion of an undergraduate degree (Business, Organizational Behaviour or a related discipline) or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent.
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in change management and leading an organization in the development and administration of people change management programs and projects, preferably in the public sector.
- Demonstrated understanding of organizational change issues and challenges as related to business processes in order to influence business leaders towards cultural change and negotiating the introduction of new concepts.
- Expertise in external consulting, facilitating and coaching leaders at all levels; proven ability to work in a dynamic, cross-functional team atmosphere.
- Demonstrated understanding and progressive experience in project management/ planning to support project teams.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills to understand and analyze business processes.
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project Office, etc.) and other computer applications.
- Experience designing and developing process and systems training for non-office environment front line workers is an asset. For example, maintenance workers, warehouse workers, manufacturing plant workers, field technicians etc.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Applies a structured change management approach which involves assessing impacts to the business side of the program/project by assessing the adoption of change among all stakeholders impacted, defining business gaps between current to expected future state as a result of changes to business processes, technology, job roles and organizational structure.
- Supports Organizational leaders and project teams in integrating change management activities into their project plans.
- Conducts assessments and informs the development of change strategies and plans to ensure a structured methodology and approach are applied to people change management and aligns with overall business objectives.
- Provides ongoing expertise and support throughout the change project life cycle to identify, analyze and prepare risk mitigation tactics and to identify and manage resistance to change.
- Conducts impact analysis, assesses, and reports on change effectiveness on assigned projects.
- Develops and/or delivers presentations, training and information sessions to support the implementation and adoption of procedures, systems, and tools.
- Provides advice, coaching and support to affected managers and leaders to promote broad and efficient adoption of change.
- Provides stakeholders with people change expertise, coaching and guidance to influence and ensure appropriate change management practices are considered in all initiatives, projects and activities.
- Provides consultative expertise and coaching to project teams. Guides others in the performance of their day-to-day activities without direct supervisory responsibility.
- Supporting development and execution of key OCM components, including the OCM strategy and plan, stakeholder analysis, organizational impact assessment, strategic communications, learning strategy and business readiness assessment.
- Coordinating workshops with impacted teams to gather change management requirements as well as mitigate forecasted risks.
- Support Management of the End User Training development and delivery plans.
- Support testing of end-user training deliverables.
- Supporting the development of the end user Course Curriculum.
- Supporting the development and execution of the Train-the-Trainer strategy.
- Support all logistics of End User Training delivery.
- Supporting the development of the Organization Impact Assessment strategy and approach.
