 This is a 6 month contract.  There is a possibility for an extension and/or conversion to full time employment based on performance.     
This role will be Hybrid (2 – 3 days in the office or more dependent on work requirements).  The office address is 161 Bay Street, Toronto ON M5J2S1.

The  Senior Accountant is responsible for reviewing and validating month end reports, providing high quality financial information to support management decisions and reporting by booking accurate journal entries and completing thorough account reconciliations. The candidate is required to have strong communication skills to manage request from stakeholders including senior management, external/internal auditors and other finance/accounting teams.
  • Accounting knowledge - this role requires the individual to know how to post entries with minimal supervision
  • Accounting knowledge – intercompany, consolidation, prepayment, accruals, deferred financing fees
  • This position will interact with the other members of the Accounting Department both in Toronto and other Element locations including the US, Mexico, Australia, and New Zealand.
Must Haves
  • Completion of a degree in Accounting/Finance/Commerce or related field
  • Minimum three (3) years’ progressive experience as a financial analyst
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • CPA preferred or actively working to obtain CPA
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with all levels of the organization
  • ERP system (SAP) and consolidation software (OneStream) experience
  • Knowledge and experience with consolidation (complex and multi-currency)
  • Strong knowledge of balance sheet and income statement and their relationship
  • Analyze and interpret various data source including global business team
  • Organized, ability to prioritize tasks and detail-oriented
  • Ability to problem-solve, analyze complex issues, develop appropriate action plans ad delivers the results timely
  • MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc.)
