Our valued financial client is seeking a Senior Change Manager for an initial 2-year contract (with an optional extension term of a 1 year) in Ottawa, ON (100% remote with occasional travel on an as-needed basis). 

As the successful candidate you will plan, organize, and lead organizational change management activities with focus on business value, organizational readiness, strategic alignment, leadership alignment/commitment and communications as part of program and project delivery.  

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the development of change management strategies and plans to support a complex IT and business program
  • Develop and execute actionable and targeted change management plans, including a communication and engagement plan, sponsor roadmap, training plan, risk mitigation plan and resistance management plan
  • Apply a structured change management approach and methodology to changes caused by the program
  • Attain a clear understanding of the goals of the program, and the team leading the change, to shape messaging and articulate the value of the change, tailored to the needs of key stakeholders
  • Work with leadership teams and the change management practice to integrate change management activities into the overall departmental plans, as required
  • Engage influential and impacted stakeholders in the development of change management plans, ensuring strategic alignment and meeting stakeholders where they are at.
  • Partner with key stakeholders across the organization to support the execution of specific engagement strategies and plans
  • Identify potential risks and anticipated points of resistance and develop specific plans to mitigate or address the concerns
  • Conduct organizational change readiness assessments, evaluate results, and prepare reports
  • Provide advice to those leading and participating in the program
  • Create and manage measurement systems to track the adoption, utilization, and proficiency of changes
  • Throughout the change, assess the effectiveness of the plan and adjust it to respond to opportunities and challenges, as they arise
  • Create and enable reinforcement mechanisms and celebrations of success
  • Prepare reports, briefings, presentations, and provide guidance and education on organizational change methodologies
  • Participate and contribute to the department’s Organizational Change Management Practice
  • Other related activities and deliverables, as required
Must-have Skills
  • 5+ years’ experience in organizational change management, communications, and training
  • Demonstrated experience working with scrum teams and delivering change management services in an agile environment or with an organization going through an agile transformation
Nice-to-have Skills
  • Demonstrated experience working in collateral management and with financial institutions 
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge and experience applying organizational change principles, approaches, and methodologies (e.g., ADKAR)
  • Demonstrated ability to coach at all levels of an organization
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating virtual meetings and workshops
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective presentations and present information clearly and concisely to audiences at all levels of an organization
  • Prosci Certification and/or Change Management Professional (CMP) Certification
  • Agile Certification(s) (e.g. Scrum Master, Product Owner, Agile Leadership)
