Our valued financial client is seeking a Senior Security Solution Architect for a 1 year contract in Ottawa, ON (to be worked remotely)

As the successful candidate you will help define and apply cyber resiliency standards and develop security solutions to internal and external financial systems.

This will involve working with IT cyber security specialists, developers, and financial systems specialists to develop security solutions and report on the cyber maturity and resiliency of the financial systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the delivery of the security solution design based on business, operational, technical and security requirements, as well as IT strategies
  • Assess the technology solutions for compliance to company directives and standards
  • Work with partners and project teams to mitigate cyber risks
  • Apply a threat modeling approach to cyber security risk measurement and reporting
  • Research and monitor technology developments and industry trends; assess their applicability, functionality and reliability and recommend technologies that will enhance productivity and the achievement of the client’s business objectives
  • Work with financial systems experts to establish guidance around compliancy to the industry cyber security standards
  • Contribute to the development of the overall Cyber Security Solution Architecture processes, tools, standards and templates
  • Collaborate with clients and suppliers to support evolving business needs
 
Must-Have-Skills:
  • 5+ years’ experience in Cyber Security and developing security/solutions architecture
  • 5+ years' experience working in a cyber assessment program
  • Experience securing financial and/or payment applications
  • Experience in the development and application of security policies and security technical standards
  • Experience with different architecture and design techniques (e.g., object-oriented, top-down, structured analysis and component-based design).
  • Experience with conceptual, logical, and physical architecture levels
 
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Knowledge of international Settlements (BIS) or CPMI-IOSCO Guidance for cyber resilience for financial market infrastructures (FMIs)
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS)
  • Experience working within a DevSecOps environment
  • SCSA, MCSE, CCNA, CCIE, CISSP or other relevant designation
  • Knowledge of Cyber Security assessment frameworks such as:
  • NIST 800.53
  • ISO 27001 and 27002
