Our Valued Public Sector Client is seeking an Senior SQL Database Administrator to develop and design automated processes for a new enterprise wide database system.   
 
Project Description:
 
The Resource will support the development of an enterprise Geographic Information System (GIS), which will modernize the departments data management process as well as facilitate greater automation and directly support the geospatial web service publication. Currently, a large portion of the data has already been migrated to the new SQL Server. The DBA is required to design, develop, test, implement and maintain the enterprise geospatial databases.
 
Tasks Preformed: 
  • Support data for interchange requirements of existing systems/applications
  • Designing new and implementing existing data schemas
  • Produce data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) routines using both SQL queries and Feature Manipulation Engine (FME) tools.
  • Identify improvements or changes to existing databases.
  • Support system architects in the design of new systems to ensure compatibility with database configuration.
  • Define and implement required new database structures including schema instantiation and database design updates.
  • Support the implementation of required data conversion processes and FME ETL’s.
  • Using Microsoft SSIS, develop and implement data conversion processes for enterprise-level data integration and transformation solutions as well as for copying or downloading files, sending e-mail messages in response to events, updating data warehouses, cleaning and mining data, and managing SQL Server objects and data.
  • Define database data conversion requirements.
  • Develop, document and implement procedures to ensure accuracy and completeness of content against data structure requirements.
  • Develop and implement security procedures for the database, including access privileges and user account management.
  • Develop, document and implement procedures to ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness of SAP XML documents and data stored in the data warehouse.
  • Advise developers and programmers about the proper and efficient use of the data.
  • Maintain configuration control of SAP XML documents and the RPSDW databases.
  • Develop procedures for the control and coordination of changes to databases including the addition/deletion of records and changes to existing records (edits).
  • Develop and coordinate database backup, disaster recovery and virus protection procedures with IT staff.
  • Provide support to operators to help diagnose and repair any data/structural errors in databases.

Must Haves: 
  • Secret Clearance
  • 5 years with SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services)
  • 6+ months of geospatial databases
  • 6+ months of designing and implementing automated processes
