Within , the oversight of controls and the management of regulatory and operational risk exposures are managed by the Regulatory & Policy Governance (“RPG”) Group within the business, a 1B group. In order to perform this function, RPG proactively monitors regulatory rule changes and industry practices, prepares policies, educates the business on regulations and operational controls, monitors control effectiveness and acts as Centre's of Excellence supporting the business to improve its control environment.
 
Job Description/Accountabilities:
 
The primary role of the Manager, AML Asset Management Governance (contract) is to support the global asset management businesses in their adherence to regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with the day-to-day Anti-Money Laundering/Anti-Terrorist Financing regulatory expectations. The role helps ensure these businesses in implementing effective operating processes and controls. As such, the position requires the incumbent to work independently and have strong leadership skills. The position will report to the VP & Director, PM/RM Lead. The successful candidate will:
 
• Provide strong leadership support to the Relationship Managers and Relationship Management Associates ("Teams") addressing day to day process queries to ensure that the businesses remain compliant with AML/ATF regulatory expectations and have effective controls and processes.
• Support the team's accountability as the AML designate for  globally.
• Provide support for the businesses relating to AML.
• Maintain AML procedures for the business.
• Provide CRS and FATCA support for the business.
• Establish strong relationships and maintain an interaction model with business partners in GAML.
• Foster the maintenance of a compliance culture across the business.
• Other matters as required.
 
Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
 
 • Must have previous experience in an institutional asset management firm.
• Strong knowledge of AML/ATF global regulations and operations.
• Minimum of 7 years work experience in investments, and/or compliance/AML.
• Ability to understand, analyze and interpret legislation.
• Ability to apply judgment in ambiguous or unclear situations and to provide recommendations.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrates positive attitude, the ability to work with others.
• Ability to work independently, and resolve problems or issues in a timely manner.
• Strong leadership, persuasion and communication skills.
• Ability to think critically and comfort with challenging the business.
• Superior organizational and time management skills.
Specific Educational Requirements/Accreditations:
 
• University degree in Business, Finance or equivalent work experience.
• Relevant industry or AML/compliance experience and/or accreditation is preferred.
• CFA designations would be beneficial.

• Must have previous experience in an institutional asset management firm MUST HAVE (institution investment management space ideally with supporting AML related matters)
• Strong knowledge of AML/ATF global regulations and operations.
• Minimum of 7 years work experience in investments, and/or compliance/AML.
