  • The Group Benefits Business Projects & Solutions team is looking for an experienced, proactive and energetic Senior Business Analyst / Business Consultant with previous experience leading the business analysis of complex projects and programs. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, instinctively seek out innovative solutions, and view challenges as opportunities. This position requires a self-starter with strong organizational and leadership skills to ensure the successful analysis and interpretation of a variety of concurrent business and technology projects within the Group Benefits portfolio. As a Business Consultant, you will work in a customer-centric environment playing a key role in delivering excellent service and support for our internal clients. Accountabilities include gathering and defining business needs, setting project scope, reviewing and approving detailed business requirements, identifying and managing risks, executing business acceptance testing, updating system documentation, developing communications/ training and transitioning knowledge to production support.
Must haves:
  • 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst within Banking/FI
  • Experience integrating financial/accounting systems 
  • Experience within insurance
Nice to haves:
  • IFRS17 experience is an asset.
  • Group benefits experience 
What are the main 3-5 responsibilities of this resource?
  • Fulfill lead business analyst role on assigned projects, directing the work tasks of business analysts as required
  • Facilitate effective workshops with the project sponsor and appropriate stakeholders to identify and document business needs
  • Collaborate with IT to translate the business needs into IT business requirements, ensuring that proposed solutions will meet sponsor/stakeholder expectations
  • Actively participate in the preparation of project business cases in support of business and system improvement initiatives (including feasibility and cost/benefit analysis)
  • Define and document business change management requirements and solutions (i.e. stakeholder impact assessment and current/future state gap analysis)
  • Develop Business Acceptance Testing (BAT) strategies and approve/sign-off on BAT test plans
