SUMMARY OF DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Corporate Evolution & Change Enablement drive excellence in end-to-end corporate processes and journeys across the enterprise, enable centralized change prioritization and management, support business architecture, business analysis and testing, and empower a better work experience with digitization and intelligent automation.

The CECE Business Requirements and Testing Team is a team of Business Analysis (BA) and Quality Assurance (QA) professionals who lead and support feasibility assessments of defined solutions to ensure they meet business objectives. The team collaborates with stakeholders to elicit, define, analyze, and communicate requirements, validate solution provided and assess solution readiness.

Job Description
The Senior Business Analyst will report to Senior Manager, Business Analysis:
• Leads Business Requirements and/or Data Migration work packages for large sized, medium to high risk and regulatory projects with multiple stakeholders and across multiple Line of Business
• Strong knowledge of business analysis, data mapping, quality assurance, project delivery practices and standards across the project delivery lifecycle
• Gain/acquire sound understanding of business and user interaction with technology throughout project delivery
• Works independently as the senior or lead business analyst and coaches and guides members within area of expertise
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and lead problem resolution Identifies and leads problem resolution for complex issues at all levels
• Contributes to the communication and change management activities across multiple stakeholders
• Contributes to the team's business, delivery and application knowledge sharing
Specific accountabilities include:

Initiative Delivery:
1. Support development of a delivery approach and work plan, aligned with the project milestone dates and considering constraints, dependencies and strategic drivers
2. Document and validate data mapping and data migration deliverables
3. Estimate, forecast and manage assigned work including timeline
4. Engage, enable and lead stakeholders to final agreement and signoff of the deliverables
5. Assess change requests and their impacts, checking for alignment to initiative objectives at all stages
6. Communicate progress on Requirements and BOT work packages
7. Identify and manage risks and issues, escalating to manager and partners where appropriate

Requirements Management:
1. Identify, document and validate current state processes and capabilities
2. Support business with defining the business needs or problem and identifying potential solutions
3. Analyze impacts to customers, stakeholders, employees, process, technology and budgets of selected solutions
4. Plan and facilitate sessions to draw out requirements – both explicit and implicit, functional and non-functional
5. Understand, challenge, categorize, prioritize and document business requirements
6. Take ownership and complete BA work package. Deliverables include, but are not limited to, Business Requirements documentation, business process design, business context diagram, Use Cases, data requirements and mapping, root cause and business analysis, impact analysis, alternatives and recommendations, work-around identification and documentation, report/dashboard/analytics design, deployment support, production stabilization and Day 2 maintenance
7. Conduct review of the design and testing deliverables to ensure the solution meets the business requirements

Job Requirements
• The following are considered relevant experience: Data Analyst experience, experience working as the Business Subject Matter Experts contributing to projects, or experience working as the business support or super user managing small enhancements
• Experience working as BA/QA resources on large and complex project/program an asset
• University degree in business, finance, engineering or related discipline
• Business Analysis and/or Quality Assurance accreditation an asset
• Working knowledge of HP ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) and Confluence/JIRA
• Strong team player with excellent communication, relationship management, consensus building and influencing skills
• Proactive and highly motivated individual with good work ethic and time management skills
• An independent thinker with strong business acumen, analytical and conceptualization skills, and the ability to identify process improvements as necessary
• Ability to learn quickly, promote a positive team environment, and exceed expectations with minimal supervision
- Working on a project – standardizing processes and combining everything into one platform
- Track issues on risk, controls, and governance
- BA / Data analytics
- Setting up target systems, mapping target systems, etc.
- Gather business requirements from stakeholders
- Will also work with a 3rd party vendor (ensure there are no gaps between business stakeholders and what the vendor has documented)

  • Data Analysis/Migration experience (very important) – 5 years
  • Business Analyst Experience – 5 years
  • Requirements gathering – 5 years
  • MS Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio
  • System Development Lifecycle Experience


NICE TO HAVE:
  • Risk, governance, and control
  • Banking / FI experience (preferably Canadian)
  • Experience with PowerQuery
  • Managing Testing (helping to coordinate work, how to get requirements, etc.– not actually doing the testing)
