SR Business Analyst with COTS application experience to support a leading-edge implementation and integration project for a next gen reporting system

Our client is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to support an exciting leading-edge project that comprises the implementation of a Next Generation Reporting System supporting manual and automated data collection worldwide, sophisticated performance analytics, regulatory reporting, integrations to multiple systems and big data repository.  
 
The Senior Business Analyst role is to pull it all together; ensure on-going operations are not impacted, support the end users and team members during implementation to ensure strong user adoption and business outcomes. 

Role in Project 

• Provides business team support and builds strong relationships through business interactions, maintaining deadlines and driving deliverables 
• Documents business processes As-Is, To-Be, business requirements 
• Conducts fit gap analysis for requirements against COTS based applications
• Works with external vendors to assess functional requirements of vendor products 
• Reconcile conflicts and decompose high-level information into detailed functional and technical specifications 
• Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, pull together multiple stakeholder needs into a cohesive plan 
• Support team on system configurations based on business requirements 
• Ensures deliverables are tracked and met to business specifications 
• Assist in the development of a traceability matrix based on requirements for the QA team to build the test scenarios, test cases and testing
• Supports delivery of system functionality, testing, UAT, roll out and user training 
• Supports knowledge transfer to super-users and process owners. 
• Acts as a Subject Matter Expert in the business function and establishes a strong super user community 

Qualification Requirements 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Business Administration. 
• Minimum 8 years of experience in a mix of business analysis roles: business systems analysis, requirements mapping, large COTS application implementation and complex integrations 
• Experience on projects with large change management component 
• Experience on systems that need to provide regulatory requirements 
• Competencies 
• Self-starter that can initiate and lead work 
• Knowledge on reporting systems. analytics and big data analytics 
• Knowledge on transportation industry IT environments, preferred maritime but others would also help understand industry challenges 
• Knowledge of sensor data/ internet of things (IOT) environments
