Sr Web Developer with WordPress, PHP and JavaScript to redevelop and create a website layout/user interface within the public sector
 
Contract: 12 months with strong chance of extension
Location: Downtown Toronto (2 days onsite, proof of vaccination required)
Hours: 7.25 per day
 
Responsibilities
  • Under the guidance of Application Services Manager, Regulatory Systems and Manager, Investor Engagement and Outreach, provide technical project management to the website redevelopment project
  • Help create website layout/user interface by using standard practices and latest technology trends
  • Test GSAM in different browsers/environments and identify any technical problems
  • Create and maintain software documentation
  • Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling our site
  • Stay plugged into emerging trends and apply them into activities
  • Work with the vendor to implementing contingency plans in case the website goes down
  • Liaise with Information Services and Information Security branch to ensure technical specs and policies are followed as part of the project
  • Work with Investor Office team and vendor to ensure technical specs are aligned with business objectives
  • Act as technical lead for the overall GSAM project and any associated tools and calculators
  • Highlight any areas of concern to Application Services Manager and Manager, Investor

Must haves:
  • 6+ years Web Development / Design experience.
  • Strong understanding of WordPress and associated plugins.
  • Excellent knowledge of PHP, JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3, SCSS
  • Knowledge of reactive JavaScript libraries
  • A solid understanding of technical Search Engine Optimization, UX and UI
  • Hands on knowledge of mobile web development standards
  • Strong knowledge of web hosting environments including server management.
  • Knowledge of WCAG 2.1+ Accessibility guidelines and implementation
  • Experience with cross-browser testing in PC and MAC environments
  • Strong experience using version control tools like GIT, BitBucket, etc.

  • Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies and tools
  • Passion for education and financial literacy is a nice to have
