Our GTA based, Municipal Government client requires the services of 2 Senior QA Analysts to support their Farecard program.
ROLE:
The Farecard program is an automated fare collection system that has established a single Farecard using smartcard technology allowing cardholders access to transit travel throughout the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) and Ottawa. The program will have 25 new stations and stops and will provide seamless customer experience for the customers via new and upgraded Farecard devices.
The successful candidate will review the design in order to prepare the acceptance criteria of the Farecard projects' deliverables and other Capital projects such as the Device Refresh (xFTP, HHPOS) and Settlement Negotiations QA activities (Reporting and Data, Non-Functional, Device Refresh, Open Payment and SLA process verification). The candidate’s responsibilities will range from analyzing requirements coverage and traceability as well as Quality Assurance strategy planning, completion of requirements validation activities.
DUTIES:
- Must be able to attend test sites during the time when public transit may not be available
- Must be physically fit to work on a moving transit vehicle such as a bus/streetcar for several hours at a time during Field Trial testing

- Design and develop Use Cases and Test Scenarios including planning of required environments readiness.
- Business Test Strategy and Test Plans development and execution.
- Reviewing Business and User Story Requirements, Impact Analysis, Verification, and Requirements Traceability Matrix.
- Conduct Environmental, Safety and Accessibility Assessments
- Use Case and Test gap analysis, Risk identification and mitigation strategies.
- Must be able to attend test sites during the time when public transit may not be available
- Must be physically fit to work on a moving transit vehicle such as a bus/streetcar for several hours at a time during Field Trial testing
MUST HAVE:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with Farecard systems based architectural applications of automated fare collection used in public transportation (including fare validators and backend processes)
- Minimum 4 Years’ experience performing verification and validation activities on large enterprise projects based on non-functional requirements
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience testing multi-layer architectural applications and complex systems
- Minimum 5 years’ experience on Test Scenario/Case development and execution planning for public transit applications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience using Microsoft SharePoint application software
- Experience in testing of financial transactions and reconciliation processes: credit and debit card processing, open payments, fare media and associated standards (ISO14443)
- Ability to design and develop service failure prediction methodologies and device availability reports.
- Proficient in database technologies (SQL Server, Oracle, MS Access) to generate complex queries
- Knowledge of network and data communication protocols
- Interface Validation: automated data file parsing and analysis using Perl or Shell scripting
