Position Title: Database Developer and Automation Resource
Length of Contract: 12 months with possible extension
Location: remote
Hours of Operation: 10 – 6 EST

Role Mandate:
Responsible for writing programs to maintain and control computer systems software for operating systems, networked systems, and database systems. Responsible for creating the software platform, and then fine-tuning the final program after it has been made.

Must-Have Skills:
• 3+ years of experience working with large data sets
• Expert SQL, SAS and Python skills
• Experience with ETL / multiple database platforms
• Previous banking / FI experience

Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience with tools such as UNICA, Salesforce, and PowerBI
• Database management experience

Role Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
• Understand how to design, set up, define, and structure data
• Perform data analysis and data mapping
• Problem-solve, validate / map datasets while working through a lot of change management
• Tackling projects with accuracy by understanding and supporting campaigns while evaluating outputs; ensure least number of errors, if possible
• Play a pivotal role in the completion of UAT
• Participates in the system development lifecycle, including requirements change requests, clarifications with developers and quality assurance analysts and guidance for business user acceptance testing (UAT)
• Proven use of SQL for analysis and data mining bespoke reconciliations and investigations
• Maintaining consistency in defined principles when it comes to operations and the design of code
• Contribute to the creation of project documentation (BRD’s, process and assumption docs, testing/test results documentation etc.)
• Support all testing efforts, data comparisons, variance analysis, summarizing results, and explaining discrepancies if any
• Setting up queries and running them
• Shrinking data sets to a reasonable size and others can review the results
• Looking at strategic enhancements and improvements
