Our Valued Public Sector Client is seeking a Bilingual Help Desk Specialist to install and troubleshoot LAN connectivity network equipment and Windows operating systems.  
 
Project Description:
The Defence Public Affairs Learning Centre has a team that provides 1st level and 2nd level support, and is the single point of contact for all incidents, service requests, general assistance and information requests.
 
Must Haves:
  • Bilingual (French/English)
  • Installing and troubleshooting LAN connectivity network equipment (routers, switches, firewall, load balancers) – 2+ years
  • Installing and troubleshooting IT security infrastructure (IPS, IDS, Anti Malware, VA testing) across multiple sites – 2+years
  • Data centre or private/public cloud environments-  2+ years
  • Education (Degree or Diploma in computer science or a relevant field)
  • Development of policies, procedures and standards related to IT solutions or infrastructure
 
Responsibilities:
  • Installing and troubleshooting hardware and software in a Windows Network environment for IT equipment such as laptops, printers, cubicle stations etc.
  • Ability to maintain, update and share content stored on the QNAP server Cloud (Quality Network Appliance Provider) for candidates, staff and clients to retrieve remotely.
  • Provide services repair, maintain on laptop replace hard drive, re image laptop, will provide advices to the manager on Life Cycle Material
  • Provide technical support to staff and students on computer and software issues.
  • Install and maintain Windows operating systems, server operations, computers and peripherals as well as a variety of locally used software
  • Coordinate and set-up all course training requirements including equipment, furniture set up and maintenance and all facility and resources needs to support the learning activities.
  • Configuration of existing or newly acquired hardware and software, hard disk management, disk operating system, configuration, implementation and use of application utilities, menus design, security configuration, problem analysis, isolation and correction, software and hardware evaluation.
