Data Conversion Analyst to support an Enterprise MDM initiative across an Azure, Synapse, and Workspace environment

Our Oil & Gas downtown Calgary client is seeking a Data Conversion Analyst to support an Enterprise MDM initiative across an Azure, Synapse, and Workspace environment. This is an initial 1-year contract with a possibility of extension.

Must-Have Skills:

• 4+ years' experience within Data Analytics, Business Intelligence or similar with a technical data integration or development background 
• 3+ years' data modeling, conversion and integration experience (ideally demonstrated "ground up build")
• Experience with Microsoft Azure Synapse, Azure Cloud Data Platform, and related technologies, including:
  • Pipelines, SQL Serverless Pools, Data Lake Gen2, Data Explorer, MS SQL, ELT Pipelines for configuring logging/audit trails  (C#, Python) 
• Experience with various “at rest” data formats, including database tables (SQL, Oracle), Excel (CSV, XML), Json, Parquet, EDIFACT, etc. and experience in building ingestion and output solutions for each type
• Experience with REST and SOAP API standards, and experience in building ingestion and output solutions for each type
• Microsoft Power BI experience for presentation of data to non-technical stakeholders, as well as for quality and completeness reporting against executed solutions

Responsibilities Overview:

• Convert transactional data from legacy ERP Financial Systems into a new ERP Cloud System 
• Support the ingestion and delivery of Master data to the Enterprise MDM Platform in the specified formats and configuration required for cleansing, enriching, mapping, and conversion purposes
• Assist in the design and implementation of the end-to-end data conversion technology solution, following key design decisions and technology architecture guidance provided by the Data Architects
• Perform technical, integration, and quality assurance testing of the technical components of the data conversion solution, as well as the data sets and payloads utilized and produced
• Share responsibility for the overall quality of the data conversion solution and processes, including proactively identifying risks and quality assurance issues
• Support the execution of all required data conversion development, testing, mock runs, sprints, integration tests, and final cutover under the direction of the Data Architects and the ERP Data Team Project Manager, as well as other ERP PMO resources and stakeholders as required
