Location Address: 44 King Street W 23rd Floor – hybrid – 1-2 days a week in week – Weds and Thurs
Contract Duration:– 10 months
Story Behind the Need:
Business Group: The Global Retail Data Office forms part of Customer Insights & Analytics (CIDA) at Scotiabank and is responsible for delivering best-in-class enabling cloud strategy and Data Management practices, standards, and policies across the Bank.
Project: The Delivery Manager will be responsible for driving adoption of cloud tooling and data management on new processes.
Responsibilities:
•Collaborate with leaders and partners to create a data strategy that empowers data practitioners to make timely decisions
•Enable and identify data delivery capabilities to accelerate the data strategy implementation
•Host and conduct kick-off meetings to understand the objectives of new data initiatives and facilitate discussions with fellow data practitioners.
•Training stakeholders on regular basis, by providing updates on the latest Google Cloud Platform practices, standards, policies, and new features
•Implement project level reporting for initiatives/projects; includes tracking, status reporting, dashboards etc.
•Become the “Go-To” person for everything on the Google Cloud Platform which enables very simple data usage patterns (Exploratory Data Analysis) and very complex usage patterns (Machine Learning Models)
•Focus on the user experience of the platform and devise strategies to eliminate any poor user experiences
•Keep up to date with the newest technologies that emerge and devise a training strategy to enhance the enterprise center of excellence training program
•Create, curate, and communicate training content to upskill and influence data practitioners to drive best practices on Google Cloud Platform
Must haves:
1. 2+ years of experience as a Data Practitioner/Delivery manager
2. 2-3 years of SQL experience
3. 3+ year of experience with Python
Nice to have:
• Experience with, Big Query, Airflow, Docker, Git would be an asset
• Knowledge of banking and financial services products, covering all business lines (day-to-day, borrowing, investing, insurance, wealth management, and small business) would be an asset
Education and Certifications : University degree in Computer Science, Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics or Business preferred
