Our large Oil & Gas client is seeking an Intermediate RF Engineer/ Radio Coordinator to provide sustainment support of a regional radio upgrade. This is an initial 1-year contract where the successful candidate will be from or willing to relocate to Fort McMurray, AB!


Must-Haves:

  • 5+ years’ radio communication & radio frequency technology experience (Motorola P25)
  • 5+ years’ network technology experience, including wired and wireless, safety, and critical communication systems (MPLS networks, NICE voice recording, Genwatch)
  • Experience working in field, industrial, and/or operational (OT) environments
  • Experience with engineering, procuring, constructing, commissioning, and operating critical wireless network infrastructure
  • Experience with business process involvement for operationalizing new services/ transition to operations 


Nice-to-Haves:

  • Oil & Gas industrial/field specific experience
  • Experience with Public and Private LTE, WiFi5/6/6E, Point to Multipoint (PMP), Point to Point (PTP), Cisco/Juniper, Cambium/Redline/Rajant/Aviat/etc.
  • Firewalls/DMZ/Security experience


Responsibilities Overview:

  • Design, deliver and commissioning of complex networking solutions (including high level and low level design, network diagrams, installation guides/packages, documentation review/approval, etc.).
  • Provide governance and oversight of Industrial network standards, templates, designs, processes, and procedures.
  • Provide advanced wired/wireless SME support and mentorship to industrial teams 
  • Drive system convergence, optimization, and continuous improvement for connectivity.


Position Specifications: Full-time onsite, 5 days/week, in the north of Fort McMurray, Alberta. Hours of work are a regular 40-hours work week, 7:30 am to 4 pm. Successful candidate will also participate in a rotating on-call after hours support schedule.
