Overview:
The Interaction Designer will be working on complex banking self-service and assisted-service features within a broad client servicing journey.
The designer will be part of an agile, cross-functional squad, and will collaborate with all squad members as needed to scope and deliver product design work.
Responsibilities:
Main responsibilities of this role include:
Contributing a design perspective as needed to identification of squad strategic objectives, and creation and maintenance of product roadmaps.
Succesful Candidate:
The successful candidate will ideally be a hybrid interaction/content designer; this means that they will have substantial experience (4-7 yrs) as either:
a content designer who has also contributed substantially to, or led, the creation of an in-market user experience strategy;
Must Haves:
- Strong skillset in both/either interaction and/or content design (with supporting skillset in the other discipline)
- Ability to deliver complex prototypes and developer-ready design files in Figma Sketch and Axure RP, InVision, UserTesting.com
- design system artifacts and guidelines in their product design deliverables
- Agile experience
Nice to Have:
- Experience planning and/or conducting client research activities
- Knowledge of accessibility principles and ability to apply them in their product design deliverables

Main responsibilities of this role include:
- Working with squad product owner, business analyst and design colleagues to identify, scope, prioritize and deliver the product design deliverables for new and existing servicing features
- Engaging as needed with Business Analyst and servicing subject matter experts to gather, organize and execute on business requirements
- Documenting the structures that underlie the user experience for servicing features – for example, user flows, conversations, customer journeys, and similar artifacts that define the client’s servicing experience.
- Contributing substantially to the content strategy for all servicing features
- Building screen flows and prototypes (low- or high-fidelity as needed) that:
- clarify the client experience for servicing features so that it can be interpreted to relevant stakeholders
- provide guidance to developer colleagues on coding, testing and launching servicing features
- Ensuring all design deliverables (those listed above and any others) are completed within scope and schedule, to standards defined by Product Owner and Design Lead
- Understanding the scope of and use the elements of the RBC online banking design system in all design deliverables
- Consulting with other members of the journey design team to identify and align on common standards, patterns and approaches
