Our valued solution integrator client is looking for an Int Network Architect to document current state architecture and propose new configurations according to best practices!
100% remote Part-Time Contract. Expected effort of 2-10 hours/week depending on volume of work coming in from end clients (no guaranteed hours). Hours will be flexible (e.g. work can be done evenings and weekends) however there will be some initial meetings scheduled with internal stakeholders during daytime hours.
Responsibilities
- Participate in initial meetings with the internal technical team to discuss requirements, timelines, and expected outcomes
- Provide ad-hoc operational ticket support for network-related issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal downtime.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess, design, and implement network solutions aligned with organizational requirements.
- Maintain and optimize Cisco routing and switching infrastructure to ensure efficient and reliable network performance.
- Administer and troubleshoot Zscaler services, including security policies, threat protection, and VPN connectivity.
- Perform regular network monitoring, analysis, and reporting to identify and address potential issues proactively.
- Document network configurations, changes, and procedures to facilitate knowledge transfer and maintain accurate records.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to contribute to the continuous improvement of the network architecture.
Must-Have Skills
- 5+ years’ experience as a Network Architect
- Demonstrated experience working with Cisco router, switches, and firewalls
- Demonstrated experience with Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA)
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, SNMP, DHCP, DNS, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, etc.
Nice-to-have Skills
- Relevant industry or Cisco certifications such as CCDP, CCNP, CCNA, or CCIE
