Our valued client is looking for an Int Windows Systems Administrator to support and maintain the day-to-day operations Windows servers and enterprise class hardware.
initial 3-6 month contract, 100% remote
Responsibilities:
Provides third/fourth level support:
- Conducts problem management with hardware and software suppliers.
- Supports the users of the office automation applications. Analyzes, troubleshoots and resolves user reported problems.
- Communicates and assists end-users via telephone or in person on use of computer systems.
- Monitors network/hardware performance and optimizes accordingly, as it relates to the server environment.
- Providing all lights on requirements, and verifications in the infrastructure as required
Research, designs, and implements systems:
- Provides recommendations for hardware, software and new releases.
- Physically installs server hardware within data centre environments if required (n/a for remote workers)
- Deploy virtual servers from pre-configured images into production
- Installs software as required and configures servers accordingly.
- Adds new users within the Microsoft Active Directory environment, granting rights and access to network files/software.
- Identifies potential problems and recommended solutions before they occur.
- Recommends and implements system enhancements.
- Tests all changes and updates documentation accordingly.
- Provides end user support responding professionally to all enquiries
- Perform scheduled system maintenance and scheduled back-ups.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of server hardware/software and conducts hardware/software evaluations.
Ensures that regulated environments and documentation meet regulatory compliance standards.
Demonstrates significant experience in designing, implementing and maintaining test plans, test cases & test data to ITIL standards and best practices.
Must have Skills:
- 3+ years experience with Windows Workstation, Windows based Server up to W2019, MS Office Suite, Exchange, Azure, Veritas Netbackup v9&10, Citrix Xenapps, Vmware 6.5/7.0, Active Directory and associated services required to run an enterprise level environment
- 3+ years experience in a third/fourth technical support role including help desk, training, course development and application development; four years of which Windows and working knowledge of Network support.
- Evaluate multiple technologies and recommend approaches.
- Assist all IT project teams.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Completion of the MCSE certification is preferred.
