Our valued public sector client is seeking an Int. Technical Writer (Enterprise Architecture) with Microsoft Visio experience.

Location: Toronto (2 days/week onsite)
Duration: Initial 6-month contract

Must haves:
  • Hands-on experience working with architectural diagramming (contextual, conceptual, logical) experience using Microsoft Visio.
  • Comfortable compiling and organizing technical information with other technical subject matter experts (SMEs) and business stakeholders.
  • Documentation using
    Microsoft Office suite
  • Design experience with the layout of documents/manuals
  • Experience working with architects and technical SMEs to compile options analysis and technology assessments.
  • Minimum years of role-specific experience: 4 years

Responsibilities:
  • Prepares documentation, including help text, user manuals, technical documentation, web page content, etc.
  • Reviews documentation standards and the existing project documentation
  • Determines documentation requirements and makes plans for meeting them
  • Gathers information provided by the Developers concerning the features and functions
  • Assesses the audience for whom the documents/manuals are required and prepares a statement of purpose and scope for each
  • Develops a table of contents for each document/manual and writes or edits the required content
  • Investigates the accuracy of the information collected by making direct use of the material being documented
  • Prepares or co-ordinates the preparation of any required illustrations and diagrams
  • Designs the layout of documents/manuals
  • Uses word-processing, desktop publishing and graphics software packages to produce final camera-ready copy
