Our client is looking for an Intermediate Application Support Analyst to maintain and expand existing applications for large financial bank - 32003


Location: Currently WFH, pending change to 1x per week from Toronto

Duration: 6 months, possibility of extension or conversion


Business group: The GWRT Data Management team provides application development and support related to various ongoing regulatory projects.

Project: The primary function of the Programmer Analyst will be to maintain and expand applications implemented using Java, Python, data vendor product APIs and script languages. Will also support the data operational team and release process, as well as various ongoing related works.


Responsibilities:


  • Perform code analysis, requirement analysis, development, test cases analysis related to data management applications
  • Implement code modules using FE (Formula Engine) vendor proprietary language, Java and Unix scripts
  • Write test cases, documents and provide level 2 support to the application
  • Work with release team on promoting implementation to UAT and Production environment
  • Attend meetings with business analyst and various stakeholders
  • Working with Bloomberg and Reuters vendor data feeds


Must Haves:


  • 1-2+ years’ experience using Reuters and Bloomberg APIs (using Java or Python)
  • 3+ years’ experience writing Oracle SQL queries using PL/SQL
  • 2+ years’ experience writing Linux/Unix shell scripts
  • Familiar with Cloud technology (OCI)
  • Prior experience with IBM or Tibco messaging services
  • Asset Control/Alveo financial data management solution or similar technology


Nice to Haves:


  • Knowledge of automated schedulers; Tidal / Airflow / AutoSys
  • Exposure to Apache Nifi and Kafka technology
  • Previous FI experience
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of source controls: Jira OR wiki (confluence) OR Eclipse OR similar programming tool
  • Canadian Securities Course


Best vs Average: Financial API experience is central to candidate consideration. The best candidates will have strong experience in this area and working with financial data systems.
