Intermediate Business Analyst/Project Manager with Information Security and Transformation Project experience to plan, organize, and direct the completion of Information Security Projects for a Major Educational Client

Location: Hybrid
(Working Virtual/Onsite – 50%)
Duration: 3 months (Option to renew up to 2 additional months to start)
Working Hours: Working 7.5 hours per day.
 
Position Purpose:
The Project Manager and Business Analyst (PM/BA) will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the completion of information security projects while ensuring the projects are on time, on budget, and within scope, and remain aligned with the strategy, commitments, and goals of the Information Security Program. The PM/BA will also conduct functional reviews with stakeholders, gather requirements, document business requirements, and create process maps of current and future state. The PM/BA will assess and analyze business needs to resolve issues, as well as contribute to successful project completion by assessing and identifying risks and developing recommendations.
 
Main Responsibilities
·       Plan and implement projects
·       Help define project scope, goals, and deliverables

·       Coordinate and manage project team

·       Create a schedule and project timeline

·       Support and direct team
·       Lead quality assurance
·       Monitor and report on project progress
·       Present to stakeholders reports on progress as well as problems and solutions
·       Identify, assess, and manage project risks
·       Implement and manage change when necessary to meet project outputs
·       Evaluate and assess the result of the project, including conducting lessons learned exercises
·       Conduct interviews with business and IT stakeholders, take detailed notes and share with the team
·       Assist with developing approach/model for engaging with stakeholders across U of T divisions
·       Provide project management support (as needed)
 
Other Accountabilities
·       Assess, research, analyze and document sponsor/stakeholder needs in accordance with the project mandate
·       Contribute to successful project completion within budget and on time by identifying risks and developing/recommending mitigation strategies
·       Seek input from the business by facilitating sessions
·       Develop and maintain strong relationship with business partners and internal/external team members
·       Identify issues and escalates/manages resolution as required
 
Skills and Competencies
·       Ability to quickly learn organizational structure, business strategies and processes
·       Lead discussions on detailed requirement phases identifying, tracking, escalating and/or resolving business systems issues

·       Project planning, risk management, time management and other project management skills
·       Project management qualification (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), or equivalent experience as a project manager

Product Management Skills
·       Knowledgeable on business process modeling, process mapping
·       Write clear and well-structured business requirements documents

·       Advanced facilitation and presentation skills
·       Experience/knowledge with desktop applications/suites such as MS Project, MS Excel, databases, etc.
·       Good organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple concurrent activities and to work successfully under pressure
 
Must Haves:
·       6+ years experience as a Business Analyst/Project Manager
·       Minimum Bachelor’s degree. Specialization in IT, Information security, Business, and Engineering is desirable
·       Current Project Management certification from a recognized institute (e.g., PMP or PRINCE2)
·       Experience managing large-scale IT transformation projects for large de-centralized organizations
·       Experience with managing information security projects in the higher education sector is desirable
·       Successfully implemented Agile Projects either within Higher Ed or other industries
·       Expert knowledge of project management methodologies
·       Experience in identifying and assessing key business processes
·       Highly developed written and superior communication & presentation skills
