Job Description:
As a Copywriter you’ll be responsible for developing copy and content for targeted engagement and retention marketing campaigns to support Marketing Communications. Your initial focus will be email, which may expand to other channels over time such as Digital Banking and Social Media.
You will be joining the Credit Card Pod within People, Culture and Brand (PC&B) and reporting into the Director of Marketing Communications, Cards Engagement.
Piloting a new work model within an agile pod requiring a copywriter to complete outputs.
Must Have Requirement:
- 5+ years of experience writing, editing, proofing copy across various platforms.
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms and trends
- Experience using software such as Adobe Acrobat Pro, Office365
Nice to Have:
- Agency experience
- Degree/diploma in English, Journalism or Diploma of Copywriting program
Ideal Candidate:
Create, manage, edit and conceptualize content
• You’re a great storyteller and have the ability to conceptualize ideas into engaging content.
• You can craft clear and compelling copy and understand how words can shape an experience. From writing catchy subject lines and headlines, to creating an emotion, to providing step-by-step advice – you’re versatile and can provide content across a range of platforms.
• You’ll review and edit materials as required, and you’ll know how to thoroughly edit and proofread all copy for grammar, spelling, punctuation and usage. You’ll need to maintain organizational knowledge of trademark rules for the banks products and services, legal and compliance.
Communications support
• You think ‘big picture’ and create quality work that not only meets the goals of the brief, but ensures brand consistency and tone of voice is present and properly applied.
Build internal and external relationships
• Your exceptional writing and presentation skills enable you to work in partnership with graphic designers, marketing stakeholders, subject matter experts, translators and agency partners across CIBC to develop and execute content and support that meets the needs of clients and consumers.
• You’re comfortable expressing your ideas and solutions, seeking best practices and sharing expertise and knowledge to further enhance CIBC’s presence.
Project and time management
• You’re self-motivated, organized and committed to high quality work on every project.
• You can juggle multiple projects and are open to constructive feedback. You know how to deal with ambiguity along with working through multiple iterations that can arise on a project.
