Intermediate Java (Eclipse) Developers work on upgrading J2EE based custom multi-tier web applications, experience with SQL, Eclipse and JavaScript

Our public sector client is seeking Java (Eclipse) developers to work on J2EE based multi-tier web applications. The successful
candidates are expected to work on modernizing J2EE based mission critical systems.

Responsibilities:

• Work within a team to upgrade existing J2EE applications to work with the latest versions of Java and
• corresponding frameworks and libraries.
• Translate business requirements into technical requirements.
• Assist QA to resolve issues that arise during QA Testing.
• Provide knowledge transfer to  development and QA teams.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of development experience with Java EE.
• 5+ years of development experience with SQL.
• 3+ years of experience developing in Eclipse
• 3+ years of experience with XML.
• 3+ years of experience working with Oracle databases and WebLogic.
• 3 +years of experience with creating cross browser friendly and cross platform friend web application
using JSP, JavaScript and CSS.

Preference will be given to candidates with the following:

• Experience with JavaScript/jQuery/AJAX
• Experience converting legacy applications to J2EE
• Experience integrating with other systems using REST API or other 3rd party webservices.
• Experience in performance optimization techniques for custom built applications.
