Our client in the telecom industry is looking out for an Intermediate Network Operations Technician to support and Test 5G Network expansion and field operations – 162546
Location: Winnipeg, MB. Able to travel in the region (mileage plus business expenses provided)
Duration: 11-month contract
7.5hrs/day
MAIN SCOPE OF WORK: is related to the Network Expansion; Commissioning activities to support Field Operations; including call testing, E911 call testing 5G, acceptance inspections of new build and uplift projects, Cisco insertion, Microwave hot cuts
Responsibilities:
• Plan and implement work orders associated with the latest 5G projects, uplift and modernization, transport while respecting customer service and live network facilities
• Perform acceptance tests on newly installed sites and equipment to ensure results meet design specifications
• Perform in-building walk testing and investigate/isolate UL RSSI interference issues
• Shift work/overtime
Must Have:
• RF and fibre background
• A valid Manitoba driver’s license and own vehicle
NOTE:
• Travel is required 100% of the time within your own area
• Must be able to work evenings and weekends if required
NICE TO HAVE:
• Telecommunications experience supporting network elements
• Microwave and transmission experience would be beneficial e.g. DS1, DS3
• Optical fibre, SONET OC3/12/48/192, knowledge of TCP/IP/ethernet
