Intermediate Quality Assurance Analyst to conduct ETL and database testing utilizing SQL on multiple applications for a major banking client - 27064

Location: Hybrid (Once per week Downtown Toronto)
Contract Duration: ASAP - January 31st, 2023 (opportunity for extension or conversion to FTE)
Hours: 37.5 hours/week
 
Story Behind the Need
Business Group: The Global Wealth Management Service (GWMS), Quality Assurance department looks after all QA testing for the banks multiple applications
Project: The contractor will be working with in the lab by running queries with SQL and reviewing data coming from different applications within the bank
 
Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare and execute test cases with JIRA, scenarios, scripts or procedures
• Executing queries with SQL as well as reviewing data with SQL
• Document software defects with Confluence, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers Identify, analyze and document problems with program function, output, online screen or content
• Test system modifications to prepare for implementation
• Develop testing programs that addresses areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, or usability
• Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes
• Create or maintain databases of known test defects Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates

 
Must-Have Skills:

• 5+ years of experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst
• 3+ years of hands on experience in ETL testing
• 3+ years of experience in Database/Back-end testing and writing the required SQL queries
• 1+ year of experience with Linux/Unix system commands
• Experience in extraction, cleansing and modification of data from/to various data sources such as flat files and databases

 
Nice-To-Have Skills:

• Prior Financial Industry experience
• 2+ years of experience working with Agile methodology
• Experience working on end-to-end Software Testing Life Cycle projects
• Previous experience with JIRA, Confluence

 
Degrees or certifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field
