Intermediate Solution Architect for Oil and Gas Facilities/Corporate Application Rationalization

Our energy client is seeking a couple Intermediate Solution Architects for Oil and Gas Facilities/Corporate Application Rationalization starting ASAP for 6 months with an opportunity to extend to 2023 year-end. 
  
Must-have:

• 5+ years direct experience doing architecture design and IT architecture modelling using an Architecture specification (ie. Archimate) and modelling tools (ie. Abacus, Visio) to author technical solution documents that align to existing policies, standards and roadmaps  
• 3+ years technical experience on solutions involving Data and Application Integration
• 3+ years experience with at least 3 of the following:
  • Application Integration – Integration Frameworks, API Management - RESTFul (including Mulesoft), JSON, SOAP and Web Services
  • Data integration using canonical APIs  - ETL, Databases, Big Data, Blob Storage
  • System migration / data conversion / data archiving
  • Process design / modeling / optimization
  • Data modeling and data analysis
  • Master data management
  • Security / identity management
  • Reliability / performance engineering and business continuity
  • System configuration / development / UI
  • IT experience in hydrocarbon industry
• College diploma or university degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent solution architecture experience

• Training, extension experience of a formal certification in an IT architecture or solution design framework or discipline (ie. Togaf, Opengroup, or Zachman)

This role will:

• Deliver solution architecture artifacts under the guidance of Enterprise Architects
• Work with Process Owners and Process Designers to:
  • Design standard to-be processes
  • Assess application capabilities and dispositions
  • Identify systems of record for new data elements
  • Identify operational reporting and analytics requirements
• Work with system of record product owners and functional / technical teams to:
  • Design configuration changes and customizations
  • Identify application integration requirements
  • Design operational reports
  • Design data migration strategy and define data conversion requirements
  • Define system retirement strategy and data archiving requirements
  • Define reliability / redundancy requirements
• Work with API & Integration Platform team to design application integration strategy, APIs, and interfaces
• Work with Data & Analytics Platform team to design archiving solution for retiring systems
• Work with Enterprise Data team to:
  • Design data extraction strategy and mechanism
  • Participate in Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse designs as required
• Work with Cyber Security team to ensure design complies with security standards and guidelines
• Review implementations and ensure they conform to design specifications

Location: Must live in/near Calgary as this client is in office downtown Tues/Wed/Thurs
