Junior HR Coordinator to support the Human Resources Systems, Process and Administration (SPA) Team with one of our Leading Insurance Clients - 2277

Length: 6 months (Contract)
Location: Markham (On Site)


Must Have:
One or more (1+) years of experience in an increasingly responsible HR role.
• Prior HR generalist experience preferred.
• Experience with Workday, PeopleSoft or other large scale human resource management system preferred.
• Experience in administering HR-related changes, including the provision of advice and counsel on transactions.
• Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access).

Nice to Have:
• Undergraduate degree in Human Resources or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bilingualism (French) preferred, not required.

• To support the Human Resources Systems, Process & Administration (SPA) team meet the HR Systems needs of the business.

Responsibilities:
• Accountable for reviewing and executing all HR-related transactions/changes in the HR systems to ensure consistency and equity of changes in the HR systems.
• Partners with managers and HR to evaluate questionable or atypical transactions. Escalates issues to COE resources as required.
• Reviews and approves Workday business process transactions including hires, moves, promotions, demotions, terminations, job status etc.
• Understands the potential downstream impacts of transactions on all areas of HR.
• Ensures appropriate transaction approvals and documentation have been secured.
• Ensures data integrity by administering and evaluating standard Workday audit and exception reports.
• Supports implementation of system upgrades and enhancements.
• Interprets Workday-related policy and guidelines to ensure consistent application across the organization through global partnership.
• Responsible for creating employee record in Workday, utilizing position detail information, candidate personal information, and offer details to complete new employee profile, compensation and organization structure requirements.
• Process all one time payments related to new hires, including any future dated items.
• Serves as primary Tier 1 support responding to employee’s questions and inquiries via the HR Service Centre mailbox. Supports the resolution of escalated HR-related Manager or Employee issues
• Confers with subject matter experts (SME) from talent acquisition, total rewards, advice, HRBPs and Change Consultants on complex plan or program related transactions.
• Identifies continuous improvement opportunities based on types of questions and feedback from key stakeholders
