Our municipal client is looking for a Intermediate Infrastructure Architect to contribute to the Internet of Things strategy and implement IoT solutions.
Must-have:
- 6+ years’ experience in a IoT Infrastructure Architect role
- Design and architecture of Private Wireless Networks
- Architecture and operation of wireless networks (3G, 4G, 5G)
- Sound knowledge of IT architecture best practices and methodologies, of Hyperscalers, Edge Computing, Slicing, MEC, RAN
- Proficiency in programming; data management; programming languages such as Java, Python, or CSS; embedded systems; network topologies; transport protocols; cloud computing; stream processing; analytics; and application development.
- Minimum of six years of current, relevant experience working in a medium to large-sized IT department/organization working with multiple teams of technical staff; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Nice-to-have:
- Government Experience
- Certification in IoT technology is an asset
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the integrity of technical solutions and work closely with all levels of IT Operations, Vendor and Project Management to make sure that the proposed solutions are feasible and sustainable
- Respond to RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, etc., prepare solution diagrams, technical descriptions, and presentation materials for prospective clients
- Documents current/to-be data flow and process workflow, business requirements in various forms such as business requirements document (BRD), use cases, user scenarios, user stories, service design blueprints, business process maps, functional and technical specifications, etc. Ensures documents are catered to the audience and effectively translates business requirements and that documents maintained regularly throughout the project lifecycle
- Take responsibility for the architecture, design and specifications of 5G and LTE network-based solutions.
- Remain responsible for the solution until it has been made operational in the transition project and ensure an efficient transfer of responsibility to the sustainment teams.
- Conducts process reviews, process improvement and impact assessment due to system changes or new implementations. Identifies all activities required to support to-be processes
- Supports and contributes to reports or presentations on solution options, status of current and future work activities, work plan, change readiness, UAT, etc.
- Assists with the development of metrics within system related technology and business organizations
Examples of projects:
- The consultant is responsible for creating and communicating the IoT concept, message, and architecture. The client has several projects that leverage the use of IoT, sensors, advanced infrastructure, communications and networking technology. Some examples include noise sensors, blue light poles, bin level sensors to schedule pickups, indoor building space mapping technology, energy efficient building technology, flood level monitoring technology etc. The goal of these projects is to make create a Smart City that is sustainable and that leverages smart technologies and data to anticipate and respond to the needs of its citizens.
