Must Haves:

 

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of business administration, computer science, finance, or management information systems.
  • Soliciting, understanding and documenting business needs for new systems/platforms/processes
  • Recommending automation to improve existing processes 
  • Must have previous experience with being a key Business Analyst on new product design or modernization project.


Nice to Have:

  • Experience working with Public Safety organizations. 


Description of Work

The Business Analyst’s role is to assess the degree of modernization required in order to achieve efficiency, improved user experience and mobility in products and systems in need of modernization. The Business Analyst will lead the effort in understanding these systems, business objectives and user experience benchmarks to document business rules, requirements and design for a modernized version of these products. Business Analyst will collaborate with business partners, police officers and your techie colleagues to make a significant impact on Toronto Police Service officers and staff.


Deliverables

The Business Analyst selected for this role is responsible for the following activities and deliverables:

 

•        Apply human cantered design to improve workflows, processes, system designs

•        Use various methods of user research to test yours and the team’s ideas

•        Create user research plans, recruit participants, facilitate user research, analyse findings and deliver insights

•        Use various methods of user testing to validate your and your team’s ideas and solutions

•        Create user test plans, recruit participants, facilitate user testing, analyse findings and document user needs

•        Present with great skills and create visual artifacts (these include presentations, wireframes, and prototypes)

•        Use user personas, empathy maps, user journeys, user flows, wireframes, mock-ups, presentations and reports.

•        Facilitate the team to share ideas

•        Facilitate feedback from users, designers, business and other stakeholders

•        Deliver user flows, wireframes, UI mock-ups, interactive prototypes

•        Become a passionate advocate for the users your represent; citizens of Toronto and Toronto Police Service officers and staff

•        Create engaging user training assets

•        Collaborate with team members cross disciplines and departments

•        Test and validate solutions

•        Maintain current knowledge of trends in technology and introduces new approaches as appropriate.
