Our valued public sector client is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support several key cyber security and infrastructure iniatives!

Initial 1-year contract in North York, ON (mostly remote - occasional on-site presence required, with a strong chance of an optional 1 year extension).

As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for supporting various cyber security initiatives by gathering user requirements across the business, validating/documenting these requirements, leading the RFx process, and assisting with the selection of advisory/managed services vendors. These cyber security initiatives will be focused on improving the organizational security posture across several focus areas such as identity and access management, Microsoft 365, Cloud (Azure) Security, IT network and infrastructure security, application security, business continuity planning, disaster recovery readiness, etc.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with project sponsors to determine project scope and vision.
  • Takes lead in coordinating and following up with Sponsors, Principal Architect, Stakeholders, Legal and Procurement to ensure Contract and SOWs are completed on time.
  • Clearly identify project stakeholders and establish user classes, as well as their characteristics.
  • Analyze and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards.
  • Conduct interviews to gather user requirements via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods.
  • Identify and establish scope and parameters of requirements analysis on a project-by-project basis to define project impact, outcome criteria, and metrics.
  • Work with stakeholders and project team to prioritize collected requirements.
  • Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing requirements gathering processes and develop strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes.
  • Translate conceptual user requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project team.
  • Take lead in documenting RFx and participate in Advisory/Managed Services vendor selection process.
  • Work with the vendor(s) to write Solution design and Technical design documentation.
  • Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts collaborating with vendors
Must-Have Skills:
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting complex cyber security projects/programs
  • Experience in writing RFx related cyber security requirements
  • Experience in supporting Cyber Security related intiatives tied to Identity and Access Management (MFA enhancements), Cloud Security, O365 Security Controls, Build and Deploy Intiatives (Infrastructure and Networks), and the development of Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery plans.
  • Proven experience in setting up a Security Governance framework
Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Knowledge in Azure Sentinel, CyberArk
  • CBAP, CISSP, CISM or other relevant business analysis/cybersecurity certifications
  • Experience with projects within the public sector and/or unionized environments
