Our Utilities Client is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to support the preparation of financial reports, development of annual budgets and periodic forecast updates accurately and on time for one or more business units. - 16906

Must Have:
- 10+ Years of related experience in Financial Accounting/Financial Reporting/Financial professional OR 5 years as a Financial Professional worked in accounting firms and have audit background
- CPA designation
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- In depth knowledge of accounting practices and principals
- Review documents (such as business cases) supporting funding requests for capital projects.
- Review of the business case is to make sure the issues are clearly explained, justifications for the investment are sound, alternatives are discussed and properly supported, and the project and funding request are in compliance with financial policy and project management practices.
- During the review, we work with the project teams to strengthen and clarify the funding requests.
- Accounting review to determine the accounting treatment for the costs included in the funding request (i.e. capital vs. operating expense).
- The deliverable of review is a briefing memo (typically 3 to 5 pages) summarizing what they have reviewed and any key issues identified. They do not prepare budget, forecast, cost reports or variance analysis for projects.
- Review contracts to validate the amount of financial commitments, and make sure the contracts are in compliance with their internal financial policy.
