Our mining client is looking for a Senior IT Manager to supervise the transition of IT services and drive operational discipline in alignment with business objectives.

This is a permanent full time role. Remote with occasional travel to the Vancouver office and mine sites across Northern BC. Open to candidates across BC and AB.

Must haves:
  • 8+ years of experience managing and developing IT teams of 20 - 30 members.
  • Budgetary Governance experience
  • Coaching/ mentoring experience
  • Strong relationship management experience with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
Nice to Haves:
  • Mining or Oil & Gas experience
  • IT Service Delivery Management ITIL 
Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the transition of IT services (including applications, desktop support, systems and infrastructure) from development, through release and deployment, to ‘steady state’ production, including the following processes and activities.
  • Driving operational discipline in alignment with business priorities and expectations through clearly defining what is expected, ensuring understanding of expectations, verifying that expectations are delivered on and leading by example.
  • Lead, coach, mentor and support employees and direct reports to understand and deliver on the planning commitments.
  • Drive the implementation strategies to maximise asset potential and deliver on the plans; aligning resources, people, succession plans and development.
  • Identify the need for change to deliver on operational objectives; supports, drives and monitors change initiatives.
  • Ensure effective safety and health management across areas of accountability through high standards of housekeeping, effective critical controls, and proactive elimination of hazards.
  • Provide leadership in the identification and management of risk through compliance with risk management processes and practices.
  • Elevates developing issues and concerns to the Departmental Manager for consultation and advice to reach agreed interventions and solutions, report back on the effectiveness.
