Senior Java (Spring) Tech Lead to manage a team of developers building GCP/DevOps pipelines for one of our major banking clients- 32152

Contract Duration: 7 months (High Chance of Extension up to 2 years)
Schedule Hours: 37.5 hrs per week
Story Behind the Need
- Business group: GWRT - GCMT Securities Operations Technology - US
- Project: Java based Tech Lead to be hired in ASM team for the project 'Asset Servicing Modernization' (new project).
Typical Day in Role:
- Leading team of five developers and working towards the build of GCP pipelines
- Designing and developing high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems and delivering high-availability and performance using Java and related technologies and GCP
- Contributing to all phases of the development lifecycle
- Leading various activities in the SDLC (requirement, design, development, testing and implementation)
- Continuous adopting appropriate new technology to meet new requirement for the job
- Use diplomacy, judgment, and persuasion to secure agreement and co-operation from departments involved in a project
- Working with architecture, other upstream and downstream integration teams, other developers in their team, BAs, and QAs
- Primarily back-end integration work, with some UI on the front end (main tech stack is Java)
- Understand key technology aspects such as solution architecture and system integration
Must Have Skills:
- 10+ years’ experience as a Java (Spring) Developer with experience leading Tech Teams
- 2-5+ years’ DevOps experience (building pipelines)
- 2+ years’ experience using Google Cloud Platform
- Strong at relational database, comfortable with using SQL to construct complex queries
- Familiar and experienced with Microservices architecture, including using RESTful API to develop enterprise solution
Nice-To-Have Skills:
- Financial industry experience (corporate actions experience is preferred)
- Agile methodology experience is preferred
Best vs Average: Top four must-haves are central to the role. While all else can be taught, we will be prioritizing those with strongest Java and GCP experience.
Degrees or certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field required
