Story Behind the Need
• Business group: GWRT - Global Capital Markets Technology
• Project: Our technology group supports the Equity Trading platforms and mid-office functions is looking for a versatile Senior Project Manager/Delivery Manager for a 6 Month Contract to be responsible for the delivery of several projects of varying size. The primary project revolves around application development (Java, SpringBoot, etc.) and system implementation (Kubernetes, Kafka) to support the processing of transactions for allocation and their booking to the book of records. Additional projects involve managing the ongoing support enhancements to an Index Arbitrage Trading platform (managing the vendor, operationalizing the Disaster Recovery processes) and the creation of mechanisms for reconciliation of positions from the blotter applications as part of their Modernization projects.

Summery –
This role will be a combination of hands on delivery management functions (application building and team mgmt., environment procurement and setup) and agile project management (Scrums, Stand-ups, Task Sizing, Team Performance Metrics, Project Status Reports, etc.) .
The skill set also requires someone who can handle the project governance and vendor relations while also being able to get involved from a technical aspect (e.g. building an application, being actively a part of the architecture review and coordinating technical infrastructure discussions).
This will be sitting in a Linux, Java, MS-SQL, Kubernetes, Kafka environment but there is no expectation to have hands on programming skills though the ability to understand and co-relate development constructs is critical.

Typical Day in Role
• Hands-on management of meetings, status reports, reporting to steering committees and working groups
• Leading an agile team and holding scrum meetings
• Facilitating KPIs and measuring productivity within the team
o Reporting project status, roadblocks and milestones to the project stakeholder and sponsors throughout the course of the project
• Assist in some BA duties (creating flow-charts, diagrams, documentation, etc.)
• Main scope would be to manage the Blotter Project and integration with middle office transaction booking
o May also assist on other smaller projects
• Involved in network planning, hardware planning and architecture
• Communicating with vendors, main stakeholders on the trading desk, system architects, development staff, QAs, BAs, and other PMs.
• Providing guidance to the project team to ensure efforts are aligned to the project delivery goal.
• Define project control processes, stakeholder management processes, and project gating documents in adherence to the bank's EPMO standards. Focus on Governance processes, ensuring projects are moving through the appropriate channels and drive the initiatives

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
  • 7+ years’ experience as a Project Manager in developing solutions within Capital Markets
    • Knowledge of institutional trading workflows (for equities/prime brokerage/derivatives) environment
  • Proven success overseeing/managing application development and deployment (release cycles, qa, code management, etc.)
  • Implementation experience for coordinating technical infrastructure teams (need to come from IT background )
Nice-To-Have Skills:
• Order Management and Execution Management System experience
• Transaction management for booking to Broadridge
• Experience with vendor systems (Fidessa, Itiviti)

Degrees or certifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
• PMI/PMP designations are an asset
