Senior Quality Engineering Lead to oversee API testing on a Capital Markets application modernization project for a major banking client - 27079

Location: Hybrid (Once per week Downtown Toronto)
Contract Duration: 6 months (strong possibility of extension or conversion to full-time)
Schedule Hours: 37.5 hours/week

Typical Day in Role

• Support and execute on the enterprise and program level test automation strategy.
• Design, Develop and Operationalize the Test Automation framework for Mobile, Web and SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) Testing.
• Setup Devops Process and tasks for QA, Operationalize the same as well as guide the QA Team in Dev Ops Adoption.
• Responsible for ensuring test automation coding standards are in place.
• Perform code reviews with JAVA, static analysis to ensure highest quality of test automation code.
• Maintain and automate test data management strategy for test automation.
• Setup, Maintain and Administer the Testing Tools (Like HP UFT, HP ALM, SOAP UI, Atlassian Suite) HP ALM is preferred
• Design and setup the Performance Engineering framework.
• Design, build and develop custom in house tools to support the testing team. Use coding skills to implement test automation, utilities and accelerators.
• Perform automation and tool assessment and present roadmap as needed.

 
Must-Have Skills

• 3+ years of experience as a Quality Engineering Lead (including Automation)
  • Experience working with a Wealth Direct Investing firm on platform modernization project
• 3+ years of experience in API Testing using Postman and Swagger Tools
• Experience in Test Automation, Design & Execution (Core Java, Selenium, Web Service, Agile and Devops)
• Setup, Maintain and Administer the Testing Tools (HP ALM, HP UFT, SOAP UI, Atlassian Suite)
• Strong knowledge of SQL Queries

 
Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with testing trading of equities, options, mutual funds, and fixed income.
• Experience with Cloud migration engagements is a key skillset
• Familiarity in Jira and X-ray would be essential.
• Experience, writing test strategies, exit reports, documenting defects, writing executive summaries and experience with JIRA

 
Education

• Computer Science degree or Bachelor degree in Business and/or IT or relevant work experience
• Canadian Securities Course is a plus
