 Our Valued Public sector client is seeking a Senior Secret Cleared Data Engineer to Design, develop and maintain Logical, Physical, and conceptual Data Models for datamarts and data warehouses
 
 

Description:
 
Our Client continues to deploy multiple internal developed applications and COTS; and technologies to support the integration of corporate projects involving Business Process and Forms, Collaboration, CRM, Data Modernization, Canada.ca integration and Portals. The projects will focus on planning, deploying, and targeting new or significant modifications of existing and new enterprise implementations. Our Client is also planning for the ongoing support of existing and future products and development technologies and can foresee the use of other technologies as needed. Our Client equires Informatics Professional Services in various Technologies delivery mechanism to plan, design, build, test, implement, configure/develop, support, enhance and maintain various current and future infrastructure and data services, products, technologies, and back/front-office projects.

Must Haves:

• 10+ years designing, developing, implementing, and testing the extract transform and load (ETL) scripts to load data marts into SQL Server.
• 10+ years performing Data Modelling
• 10 + years extracting, transforming, and loading from two or more data sources into a data mart.

Tasks:

• Developing and maintaining Reporting and analytics Data Models for corporate and project specific initiatives;
• Design, develop and maintain Logical, Physical, and conceptual Data Models for datamarts, data warehouses;
• Provide technical expertise in the use and optimization of data modeling, and Extract Transform and Load (ETL) techniques to team members;
• Provide technical assistance, guidance, and direction in terms of data analysis, data development and modeling to team members;
• Provide assistance to project team and business users relating to data issues and data analysis concepts;
• Comply with corporate data architectures, strategies, and frameworks, including enterprise data warehouse activities;
• Review data requirements, and business information needs and devise technical plan for data mart development;
• Construct, monitor and report on work plans and schedules;
• Identify requirements for improvements to existing datamarts by determining users' information requirements and system performance and functional requirements;
• Develop and implement procedures that will ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of data stored in the datamart;
• Mediates and resolves conflicts among users' needs for data;
• Advise programmers, analysts, and users about the efficient use of data;
• Work with importing files from heterogeneous platforms;
• Develops Extract Transform and Load procedures with raw data sets;
• Documents data flows, ETLs, data unit tests;
• Works with multidisciplinary teams such as database administrators, developers, quality assurance, business analysts, and data scientists;
• Provide knowledge transfer to support team;
• Provide ongoing support to support team;
• Design, build, analyze and integrate data from multiple sources;
• Write complex data queries;
• Assist in designing, planning, and managing the data migration process;
• Work with subject matter experts and project team to identify, define, collage, document and communicate the data migration requirements;
• Perform cross-program data assurance for physical data items in source and target systems;
• Perform migration and testing of static data and transaction from one core system to another;
• Work across multiple functional projects to understand data usage and implications for data migration;
• Evaluate existing SQL procedures and SSIS ETL packages, identify and document database content structure, and application sub-systems;
• Develop completed SSIS ETL packages ready for migration;
• Design and develop ETL processes using SSIS and deploy the packages using project deployment model
• Draft detailed Extract – Transform – Load (ETL) design documents;
• Write SQL scripts, procedures, functions;
• Upgrade SSIS packages and test migration scripts;
• Perform issue and incident resolution as required;
• Provide technical advice on bringing data into centralized data repository;
• Develop scripts and procedures to load data into centralized data repository;
• Optimize data retrieval queries and data storage infrastructure;
• Data consolidation of separate systems into centralized data repository;
• Provide support in daily operational tasks, analysis, diagnosis, recommendation, configuring, and implementation to changes, bugs, and emergency fixes.
• Track time and details of work completed

 
Deliverables

• Develops data models for application or enterprise data marts, data warehouse and analytics;
• Develops Extract Transform and Load procedures with raw data sets;
