Our Valued Public sector client is seeking a Senior Secret Cleared Database Administrator to support COTS applications and the integration of corporate projects involving Business Processes, CRM, and Data Modernization Projects

Description: 

Our Client continues to deploy multiple internal developed applications, COTS; and technologies to support the integration of corporate projects involving Business Process and Forms, Collaboration, CRM, Data Modernization, Canada.ca integration and Portals. The projects will focus on planning, deploying, and targeting new or significant modifications of existing and new enterprise implementations. planning for the ongoing support of existing and future products and development technologies and can foresee the use of other technologies as needed. Our Client requires a delivery mechanism to plan, design, build, test, implement, configure/develop, support, enhance and maintain various current and future infrastructure and data services, products, technologies, and back/front-office projects. 

Must Have: 
 
  • 10+ years as a Database Administrator
  • 5+ years using SSIS to perform ETL 
  • 5+ years Designing Relational Databases and SQL tuning/optimization and backup and restore 

Tasks: 
  • Work in JIRA, Azure DevOps, and SQL Change Automation;
  • Implementation of upgrade from one version of SQL to another;
  • Write SQL scripts, procedures, functions;
  • Manages day-to-day database operations;
  • Customize database conversion routines;
  • Finalize Conversion Strategy;
  • Generate new database with the client;
  • Acquires data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems;
  • Filters and “cleans” data, reviews reports and performance indicators to locate and correct problems;
  • Maintain data dictionaries;
  • Develop and implement procedures that will ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of data stored in the database;
  • Develop and implement security procedures for the database, including access and user account management;
  • Advise programmers, analysts, and users about the efficient use of data;
  • Maintain configuration control of the database;
  • Perform and/or coordinate updates to the database design;
  • Control and coordinate changes to the database, including the deletion of records, changes to the existing records, and additions to the database;
  • Direct the monitoring, administrating, and implementing performance on database systems as well as database performance optimization, developing/changing database indices, redesigning database structure and reloading data into a database;
  • Develop and coordinate backup, disaster recovery and virus protection procedures;
  • Provide technical expertise for ongoing projects and operational work to technical lead;
  • Work with IT Security on the Vulnerability Assessment and Threat and Risk Assessment
  • Works with multidisciplinary teams such as developers, quality assurance, business analysts, data engineers, and data scientists.
