Our public sector client is looking for a Senior Solution Architect to develop the initial solution options, and the high level conceptual and logical design for new software solutions. (SPS-RC-23-001)
 
Must Have
  • Demonstrated project experience working as a Solution, Application or Technical Architect in a lead role.
  • Demonstrated experience with Azure Services.
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud architectures and technologies.
 
Nice to Have
  • Demonstrated knowledge of at least one major architecture methodology. (TOGAF or Zachman)
  • Completion of at least one formal course in project management (PMP or Prince2)
  • Demonstrated experience using a modern approach to solution architecture and applying current best practices in areas such as integration, data management, governance and organizational change management. 
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and managing architectural standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in technology planning and the development and maintenance of roadmaps.
 
Description / Responsibilities
As part of a project team, the Solution Architect works with business and technical resources in the development of technical specifications that support the procurement processes for new software solutions and services ensuring business outcomes are delivered.
The role of the Solution Architect at the client as a generalist with a broad skill set typically acquired through many years of business and industry experience in all IT disciplines including technology planning and operations, infrastructure management, data analysis, and integration design. These abilities must be supported by strong interpersonal, change management and project management skills.
Typical Duties of the Solution Architect Resource include but are not limited to:
  • Work with ministry personnel to assess business requirements and recommend initial solution options.
  • Develop and document high level conceptual and logical solution architectures in alignment with standards and the current environment.
  • Oversee the technical implementation and deployment of new business solutions.
  • Participate and contribute to the maturity of the architecture practice.
  • Develop and maintain technical and business IT standards and system roadmaps.
